Previous Entry Share Next Entry

Hi there moms!

I need to apologize for not being up on this community's birthday announcements this year. I've been exhausted by a current pregnancy, and I simply forgot to do it.

So happy SIXTH birthday, kiddos!!!!

Please, if you have time, take a couple minutes to update us about your February 2005 cutie!

We're doing great! Sam is very much looking forward to her 6th birthday, though she is quite concerned about her lack of wiggly teeth. She is enjoying 1st grade very much and doing mostly great in school, though she isn't very comfortable around computers and other forms of technology yet. Watching her play nintendo is quite possibly one of the most painful things I have ever seen, lol.

She's been through a lot in the past few months--I started a graduate nursing program to become a nurse-midwife and that is definitely making it more difficult to spend as much time with her as either of us would like, but she is coping and I feel just about as blessed as any mama could be!

Here is a picture of the first day of the school year:

How are your babies doing, Gen? I hope everyone is well and congratulations on your pregnancy!

Oh my goodness - she's adorable! Does she have one blue and one brown eye, or is that just the photo? Very cool if she does! And I didn't know you were studying to be a CNM! Good for you!

My "babies" aren't babies anymore. We're dealing with quite a bit of sass from both, though thankfully Robert (6 on the 10th) is starting to think first before speaking every now and then. Mikaela (4 this past November) can be so sweet... and then such a little witch a few minutes later. I'm *so* looking forward to her teen years and PMS o_O I'll take a pic of R for sure (and probably the little diva when she sees the camera) and post that soon.

This icon is of the big kids last May - the most recent of the two of them that I have.

Pregnancy has been uneventful as far as major things but full of surprises and weirdness in minor things. I'm due next month, and we had a bit of a possible curve-ball thrown at us at my last midwife appointment... so I'll hopefully have some clarity on that on Monday at my next one and will then either cry or laugh really hard (it's so drama sounding that I'm just waiting until we know more to even explain). But I'm excited to be planning our first homebirth!

Lana's doing really well. She's in Kindergarden and LOVES school. She does an after school Kid's Club thing that does soccer, t-ball, jazz dancing, and random activities in between, and she's a Girl Scout. She is a little artist.

Her and her older sister, Naima, fight a lot but they're also the best of friends. We bought a house and moved this summer and the girls have the two biggest rooms (one's a toy room) so Lana loves having friends over to play.

In August we're expecting our third and the girls are both very excited. I can't wait to see how Lana acts with the baby.

Hayley is doing good. Very excitied about turning 6. She's in kindergarten and loves it very much (though she only had 1 day of school this past week due to snow!!). She's also been taking karate since September. She enjoys that a lot too.

We're still having a lot of trouble with her ears. She hasn't grown out of that yet. She got her 3rd set of tubes last May. They were supposed to be the intermediate tubes that lasted at least 2 years. I can see the one in her right ear is falling out (I can see it in her ear...it's stuck in wax...yuck, I know). She had an ear infection in December & January both.

We've also had an interesting time with her teeth. She got "shark teeth" as the dentist called them. Her adult teeth came in behind her baby teeth on the bottom. This happened to 2 teeth. One of the baby teeth fell out on it's own finally but the other had to be pulled. That sucked!! But Hayley really did well. I was kinda surprised....she's my drama queen. :)

Anyway, here's a picture!
